Plainfield Symphony Orchestra Announces Honorees For September Centennial Gala

July 23, Plainfield, NJ – The Plainfield Symphony Orchestra (PSO), New Jersey’s oldest community orchestra, has announced that Andrea and Ronald West, New Jersey Galvanizing and Tinning, Inc., and The Plainfield Foundation will be recognized at “The Centennial Celebration,” Plainfield Symphony Orchestra’s 100th Season Showcase.

Former Governor Thomas H. Kean serves as honorary chair for the gala, which will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at Plainfield Country Club. The evening will feature a cocktail reception, fine dining, and music by Peter Duchin and his Orchestra, as well as silent and live auction items, with comedian Joey Novick conducting the live auction.

“We’ve reached a milestone with our upcoming 100th season,” said Rebecca Perkins, PSO President. “The Showcase offers an opportunity to recognize the contributions of so many who have supported PSO for a century and helped us sustain the founders’ vision of a community symphony that represents the highest standard in musical excellence.”

“All of our honorees have played a significant role in making our 100th season a reality,” said Perkins. Andrea and Ronald West of Plainfield are receiving recognition for their community service. New Jersey Galvanizing and Tinning, Inc. is the corporate honoree and The Plainfield Foundation is the nonprofit honoree.

“Having Peter Duchin here for this event is especially meaningful for PSO,” Perkins added. “He played at PSO’s 65th anniversary celebration at Plainfield Country Club, and we’re thrilled that he is back for this special evening.”

“The Showcase is the signature fundraiser for PSO,” said Patricia Van Slyke, PSO board member and gala chair. “Plainfield has a rich history of elegant events that have supported New Jersey’s oldest community symphony through the years, and this year will be a wonderful addition to that history.”
