PSO October 25, 2026 Special Concert with The New Jersey Youth Symphony

The Plainfield Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of its acclaimed music director Charles Prince, is excited to be collaborating for the first time with The New Jersey Youth Symphony in two concerts this fall to be held at the Union County Performing Arts Center, 1601 Irving St, Rahway, NJ. The concert will feature separate programs by each group.

The first concert will take place on October 25, 2026 at 7 PM. The PSO will largely feature works by American composers. Included on the program will be Morton Gould’s American Salute, which is based on the civil war tune “When Johnny Comes Marching Home.” Movements 1 and 4 from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A major Op. 92 will be performed. Other American works will be Hoe-Down from Aaron Coplands’s ballet Rodeo, John William’s “Raiders March” from the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark, and the 3^rd Movement Fugue from Symphony No. 4 by Charles Ives.

At the conclusion of the concert, both orchestras will combine to pay the iconic march The Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa.
